Tips on Selecting Frames for Fishing :
No single pair of sunglasses is perfect for all fishing conditions. Just as there are distinct fishing lures for different types of fishing, there are also different sunglasses for different applications. Frames: The frame material and style for fishing sunglasses are a matter of personal preference. However, since UV light comes in from the edges of the frame as well as through the lens, we recommend fishing sunglasses that wrap around or have side shields.Lenses: Glare increases on surfaces such as water therefore, polarized lenses are a must. In addition to reducing glare, they allow you to better see through the water, which is very useful when fishing in shallow depths. Fishing sunglasses should also offer 100% UV protection. Since fishing is not a high-risk sport, any lens material ( polycarbonate, glass, plastic) is appropriate. The lens color you choose depends on the time of day you most often fish and the fishing environment. Time of Day: If you typically fish in the early morning or late afternoon, we recommend a vermilion or rose colored lens. This low light lens still blocks out glare during these times of day. If you fish in the middle of the day, use a brown or gray lens, which will provide the best shielding from the sun. Fishing Environment: The closer the lens tint matches the background, the more the lens will make the fish stand out. This theory is like those childhood puzzles that have the blue and red colors blended together. When a red film is placed over the puzzle, the blue message stands out and is easy to read. Therefore, the polarized filter discussed above cuts the glare off the top of the water and the tint of the lens makes the fish stand out. For example, in sandy flats fishing, an amber or copper lens is best because it matches the color of the sandy bottom. For fly-fishing, amber lenses are often recommended. For lake or deep-water fishing, we recommend a slight amber tint with hints of green. The amber will increase contrast and sharpen vision, while the green will cancel the background and show the fish.
