Authentic Rx: An Authentic Rx lens is one that comes directly from the frame manufacturer, thereby giving you all the features of that manufacturer's specialty lens with your custom prescription. Often, the manufacturer's logo is etched or stamped onto the lens as a symbol of authenticity. Please note these are custom orders and are Not Refundable.

Athletic Optics Rx: An Athletic Optics Rx lens is made in our lab. We can offer you any lens option you want: clear, tint, polarization, transition, mirror coating, anti-reflective coating, etc. The price for an Athletic Optics Rx will depend on what lens options you want -- please contact us for details. Please note these are custom orders and are Not Refundable.

Rx Insert: An Rx insert fits inside the regular frame, usually clipped in at the nosebridge. The lens for the insert will be custom made in the Athletic Optics lab, using polycarbonate lenses, which incorporate UV protection and an anti-scratch coating. The Rx insert is unique to the frame, though in some instances, the insert will fit other frames from the same manufacturer. Here are some samples of Rx Inserts:

Stock Rx: also known as Step Diopter lenses, this option is only applicable to certain swimming goggles and scuba masks. Stock Rx lenses are pre-fabricated lenses that only correct for sphere (nearsightedness/farsightedness) but not for cylinder (astigmatism). If you have no astigmastism, or if your astimatism is mild, these should work for you. Those with cylinders greater than -1.00 should consider custom goggles since vision will be compromised in a Step Diopter goggle. If you select a Stock Rx lens, please input your prescription and we will determine the best Stock Rx lens for you. Please note that though a PD measurement is not needed for Stock Rx lenses, our online form will not allow you to proceed without entering a PD. Following are the products offered with Stock Rx lenses:

• Barracuda: The Medalist and Standard swim goggles offer Step Diopter lenses with the same prescription strength in each eye.
• Hilco: The Hilco swimming goggle offers the option of different power in each eye and is available in minus (nearsighted) or plus (farsighted) spherical corrections.
• Hilco Adult Dive Mask Rx: This model is available with Stock Rx lenses from –1.00 to –6.00 in ½ diopter increments. (Sorry, no plus powers are available for this mask). The Stock Rx lenses are already included in the price shown.
